Introdction
Throughout history, men, instead of letting the Truth of the Word speak for itself, have chosen to emphasize certain texts that increase their own value and worth. They often accomplished this by completely changing or even omitting texts that affirm the important roles that women play in both the Old and New Testaments. My goal is to highlight women in the Bible and refute the claims that women “are less than,” “are the weaker vessel,” “should remain quiet,” “should be blamed for sin,” “are property,” “are impure,” “should submit to men,” and many other phrases that diminish women. Before we deep dive into the Word of God, if you only remember one thing from this page, may it be this: “For it is by the grace of God you have been saved, through faith- and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God” (Ephesians 2:8). This is a gift that available for everyone! God sent His son to live a perfect life and die on the cross so that ALL OF US may be saved. This is the Good News! Not only did Jesus die for us, but He rose from the grave, defeating death, so that we may have eternal life. He ascended to heaven and will return to ultimately defeat Satan and restore earth to a place of joy, where He will wipe every tear from our eyes (Revelation 21:4), and there will be no more brokenness. This is what is to come!
Now, let’s go back to the beginning.
